Despite a resilient effort that pushed the match to the final courts, the Cardinals (9-9, 4-3 MAC) were unable to overcome the visiting Bulls.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Cardinals dropped the doubles point after the Bulls claimed victories on the top two courts, cutting short a heated battle at the No. 3 slot featuring Nolan and <a href=\"https:\/\/ballstatesports.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/drew-hayward\/13108\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13108\" target=\"_blank\">Drew Hayward<\/a>.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBall State rallied as singles play began, with <a href=\"https:\/\/ballstatesports.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/andrei-caragea\/13111\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13111\" target=\"_blank\">Andrei Caragea<\/a> leveling the score at 1-1 via a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Onder Balci.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBuffalo briefly regained a 2-1 lead by taking court three, but <a href=\"https:\/\/ballstatesports.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/jeremy-milette\/13114\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13114\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Milette<\/a> responded for the Cardinals, defeating Minjae Kim 7-5, 6-1 to tie the match again. Senior <a href=\"https:\/\/ballstatesports.com\/sports\/mens-tennis\/roster\/jacks-lancaster\/10639\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"10639\" target=\"_blank\">Jacks Lancaster<\/a> then surged past Theodoros Mitsakos on the top court, giving BSU its first lead at 3-2.
