No stranger to the 15-man code, Seibold was a member of England\u2019s rugby union coaching staff before his stint at the Manly Sea Eagles and has close links to the code.<\/p>\n
There are some who believe Rugby Australia (RA) should hire him as a defensive specialist coach ahead of the upcoming 2027 Rugby World Cup (RWC) due to the Wallabies recent performances which have seen them leak multiple points.<\/p>\n
While there have been no links between RA and Seibold at this stage, Japanese head coach Eddie Jones confirmed that he is already under consideration to join the national team\u2019s coaching staff.<\/p>\n

The two have a storeyed past together, with Seibold previously working as a defensive coach under Jones during his time as England head coach between 2021 and 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing to poach. He\u2019s free now,\u201d Jones told Code Sports on Friday.<\/p>\n
This comes as they prepare for the upcoming 2027 RWC which will be held in Australia next year.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Super League (rugby league competition in the United Kingdom) is another potential option.<\/p>\n

SUPER LEAGUE<\/p>\n
Despite never coaching in the Super League in the past, Seibold could become the latest former NRL coach to make the switch to the overseas competition.<\/p>\n
This would see him follow in the footsteps of Brad Arthur (Leeds Rhinos) and John Cartwright (Hull FC), who are currently plying their trade overseas.<\/p>\n
Huddersfield Giants are on the lookout for a new coach following the sacking of Luke Robinson due to a poor start to their 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n
