{"id":570848,"date":"2026-03-28T22:43:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-28T22:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/570848\/"},"modified":"2026-03-28T22:43:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-28T22:43:08","slug":"sam-curran-england-all-rounder-unsure-of-return-date-after-groin-injury-forces-ipl-withdrawl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/570848\/","title":{"rendered":"Sam Curran: England all-rounder unsure of return date after groin injury forces IPL withdrawl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">England and Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran says there is no timeframe on his return from a groin injury that has ruled him out of the Indian Premier League.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Curran was set to play for Rajasthan Royals in this year&#8217;s IPL but pulled out earlier this month, with the nature of his injury initially unspecified.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 27-year-old revealed he had been managing a groin problem throughout England&#8217;s run to the T20 World Cup semi-finals and scans have revealed damage that requires rest and rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s an injury that I&#8217;ve kind of been battling with a little bit,&#8221; Curran said. &#8220;It has gradually got fractionally worse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I went for a couple of scans and it showed reasonable damage, so I had to make the tough decision.
