A surprising response from Simon Cowell<\/a> to one performance on the latest episode of Britain’s Got Talent <\/a>had viewers scratching their heads, with some claiming “he’s lost the plot”.<\/p>\n

During Saturday’s (March 28) instalment of the ITV<\/a> talent competition, judges Simon, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and KSI faced another packed evening as they continued their search for Britain’s next big star.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s hopefuls pulled out all the stops in their attempts to wow the panel and secure the \u00a3250,000 prize money, along with a coveted performance slot at the Royal Variety Performance.<\/p>\n

But it was one particular act that sparked conversation as Japanese musical ensemble Arubai stepped into the spotlight.<\/p>\n

The group delivered an unconventional rendition of one of Queen’s most iconic songs, reimagining Don’t Stop Me Now as a Japanese punk number \u2013 a style never before witnessed on the BGT stage, reports Belfast Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Upon their entrance, Amanda enquired: “Hello. Where are you from?” A member of the group responded: “We are our music group from Japan.” The audience welcomed them with applause before Amanda added: “Thank you so much for flying all the way. Do you think you can win?” The ensemble replied: “Yes. Our dream is to do a war tour.”<\/p>\n

Confusion rippled through the auditorium as the performers morphed into human-sized musical instruments. Observing from the wings, Ant questioned: “What is going on?” while Amanda could be heard exclaiming: “What the heck is this?”<\/p>\n

The judges’ reactions were mixed, with KSI becoming the first to hit his buzzer in disapproval. Dec quipped: “Well, they wanted to see something they had never seen before.” Within moments, Amanda and Alesha had also hit their buzzers.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly, Simon was the sole judge who seemed to be relishing the performance, dancing enthusiastically along.<\/p>\n

After the act finished, Alesha confessed: “My ears are bleeding.” KSI interjected: “I hope I never have to see that again.” Simon countered: “This is something that will grow on you, I promise you.”<\/p>\n

He continued: “I think we have witnessed the birth of something new. So, you’re Japanese, that was punk, it’s junk.”<\/p>\n

Simon revealed: “However, I actually quite liked it because it was so crazy. Does anybody else like them?” Simon was alone amongst the judges in voting yes, a moment that didn’t escape viewers’ attention as they immediately took to social media to voice their reactions.<\/p>\n

One viewer posted on X: “wtf has happened to Simon he’s lost the plot #bgt.” Another queried: “Simon liked it.? #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.”<\/p>\n

A third pondered: “Has someone spiked his coffee or something? #BGT.” Another observed: “Wow Simon said yes. The others said no to Arubai – Ruth #BGT.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, one audience member noted: “20 years ago, Simon would tell them to f*** off. Now he’s laughing.”<\/p>\n
