The Andretti Global driver will start Monday\u2019s Alabama Indy Grand Prix from 23rd, but is optimistic he has a car capable of winning.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the latest incident in a dramatic start to his season, which began with two crashes at St Petersburg and another at Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Power\u2019s braking problems began at St Petersburg and returned at Barber during Sunday morning\u2019s crucial qualifying.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe brake just went to the floor,\u201d Power explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the fronts were working, so it was a brake failure on the rear. That\u2019s all I know.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll find the problem. It\u2019s no big deal. It\u2019s just a pity for qualifying.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we had a good car. I haven\u2019t had a clean lap this weekend, but the car is actually very good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought we\u2019d make it through to the Fast Six. Definitely the top 12. It\u2019s unfortunate.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely found the wall a few times this year already. It\u2019s incredible.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s how things go sometimes. We\u2019ll see what happened and the guys will fix the car.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting from last, but you can definitely win from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Power\u2019s Andretti teammates had better fortunes. Kyle Kirkwood qualified fifth while Marcus Ericsson was eighth.<\/p>\n

Chip Ganassi Racing\u2019s Alex Palou will start from pole position.<\/p>\n

Monday\u2019s Alabama Indy Grand Prix begins at 4am AEDT with coverage live and exclusively on Stan Sport.<\/p>\n
