Image: Mark Horsburgh<\/p>\n<p>McLeod wrestled the lead from Aaron Cameron in the early running, ending the Garry Rogers Motorsport driver\u2019s early choke-hold on the series.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron qualified on pole position for the second race in a row, sharing the front row with the young charger.<\/p>\n<p>McLeod led home Supercars star Cameron, with former Super2 front-runner Tyler Everingham rounding out the podium.<\/p>\n<p>James Moffat held on to finish in fourth position, while Josh Anderson rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n<p>Moffat made slight contact with Cameron exiting Turn 1 at the race start as the three at the front battled closely.<\/p>\n<p>GRM\u2019s James Golding made his way past Cameron for second position in the opening laps as Cameron battled with slight side-skirt damage.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Perkins unfortunately did not start the race following a continued gearbox issue.<\/p>\n<p>Open wheel graduate Imogen Radburn ground to a halt after a handful of laps with a mechanical issue.<\/p>\n<p>Golding began to slow at the mid-point of the race with a suspected loose right rear wheel, pulling off into the pits from second position.<\/p>\n<p>The team at GRM got Golding back out, finishing two laps down in 10th position.<\/p>\n<p>Keith Kassulke battled through to take a second win in the Dark Horse Legends class, despite exploring the gravel in the late stages of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Robb went back-to-back in race two, taking his second win in as many races.<\/p>\n<p>Robb held off a charging Lincoln Taylor to take the win by just 0.6427s, with Kamal Mrad rounding out the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Dean Wanless brought out the first of two safety cars when he found the wall on the exit of Hayshed.<\/p>\n<p>As the field circulated around to the restart, Robb held the pack for a significant period when the green flag dropped, resulting in Eric Constantinidis finding the wall at the back of the pack.<\/p>\n<p>The Pro-Am contender\u2019s car was towed quickly off the circuit while the safety car came out for a second time, setting up a quick dash to the finish.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Gilbertson went back-to-back in the Pro-Am class following a late race spin from Lachy Harburg.<\/p>\n<p>Harburg recovered to finish fourth in class, 16th position outright.<\/p>\n<p>Kobi Williams fought through to take victory in a dramatic conclusion to Race 3, the first Jim Richards Enduro Cup race of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Following an enthralling battle where Daniel Quimby took the lead from Xavier Avramides, a blown right rear tyre for Quimby saw Williams inherit the lead with one lap to go.<\/p>\n<p>Early leader Robb was spun off the road by Taylor in contact between the pair after two quick safety cars in the opening laps.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor was penalised with a drive-through, coming home in 13th position while Robb was relegated back to 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Gilbertson swept the weekend in the Pro-Am class, coming home in eighth outright.<\/p>\n<p>Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Australasia<\/p>\n<p>Jim Pollicina took the win in Race 2 of Ferrari Challenge after an incident-plagued race.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/motorsport-news-2026-ferrari-challenge-crash-phillip-island-red-flag-challenge-video-reaction\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Race leaders Enzo Cheng, Antoine Gittany, and Rick Armstrong were involved in a bizarre crash on the pit straight when the yellow flag was thrown at the end of Lap 1.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The race was restarted after a lengthy red flag and clean-up effort, leaving Pollicina in the lead to run away with the race win, but not before a second incident.<\/p>\n<p>Ernst Kirchmayr had set about a recovery mission after pitting under the red flag, while all other cars stayed out on the circuit.<\/p>\n<p>Kirchmayr was forced wide into the grass by Damian Hamilton, sending the Austrian sliding out of control and into David Trewern.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/294243\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/294243.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Cameron McLeod dominated Race 2 of Mustang Cup Australia at Phillip Island.
