Sean Ferguson, thrust into the lineup a few weeks ago due to injury troubles throughout the team, teamed with Raz Haviv for a 6\u20132 doubles win on court three before quickly dispatching his No. 6 singles opponent 6\u20130, 6\u20134. He improved to 3\u20131 on the season.<\/p>\n
The doubles point clincher came from a hard-fought 6\u20134 victory at the top spot from the South African duo of Jovan Lubbe and Leo Matthysen. Lubbe followed that up with an even better performance at No. 1 singles, earning a swift 6\u20131, 7\u20135 win that put the Mustangs up 2\u20130 in short order.<\/p>\n
Aaron Eliscu, who had played all but two of his singles matches this season in the bottom half of the lineup, stepped up in a huge way to secure the match-clinching point at No. 2 singles, 6\u20131, 7\u20136 (9).<\/p>\n
In defeating his Rainbow Warrior counterpart, Eliscu earned his first collegiate victory in a top-2 singles slot. At 10\u20134 on the season, he remains Cal Poly\u2019s 2025\u201326 singles wins leader.<\/p>\n
