Kylie Minogue has been revealed as the pre-game entertainment for this year’s AFL grand final, marking the first time in four years that an Australian has headlined the event.

Minogue’s performance comes after Robbie Williams, KISS, Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg performed at the MCG from 2022-25.

The last time an Australian led the pre-match performance was 2021, when COVID forced the game to be played in Perth and a medley of Aussie artists, including Abbe May, Baker Boy and Eskimo Joe, performed.

“The AFL grand final at Melbourne’s one and only, forever iconic MCG? Yes, please,” Minogue said.

“As a Melburnian, I’m so excited to be coming home for the biggest day in the Aussie sporting calendar.

“I’ll not only be performing, but I’ll be one of 100,000 fans at the ‘G, watching the wonder that is footy.”

It will mark the first time Minogue has performed at the AFL grand final, after a music career spanning almost 40 years.

Minogue’s 2023 hit release Padam Padam won her her first ARIA and her first Grammy in 20 years.

“This year, we welcome home an Australian icon,” AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon said.

“Kylie has been on our wish list for a long time, and there is no better artist for headline the performance prior to our biggest game of the season.

“Our AFL team recently joined Kylie at the MCG for the grand final content shoot, and you could already feel the excitement for September building.”

Kylie Minogue has been revealed as the pre-game entertainment for this year’s AFL grand final, marking the first…

[560
281011,638,49418,64,63,55,639,134,11288,63496,281009,281010,85
post-572806","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-afl","tag-2026-afl-grand-final","tag-afl","tag-afl-grand-final","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-australian-football-league","tag-australianfootballleague","tag-entertainment","tag-grand-final","tag-kylie-minogue","tag-pre-game","tag-pre-match","tag-sports
["GET
