The first weekend of the 2026 MLB<\/a> season is over, and we’ve learned so much in this new era of the sport.<\/p>\n

The ABS system has been a smashing success for everyone but the umpires, and the two teams that delivered arguably the greatest World Series of all time are, shockingly, still really good.<\/p>\n

Along with the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> and the Toronto Blue Jays<\/a>, three other teams made it through their opening series without a loss.<\/p>\n

Here are the teams still undefeated heading into the first full week of MLB baseball of the year.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Dodgers<\/p>\n

The Dodgers had a Hollywood entrance as they returned for their three-peat quest in Los Angeles, beating the Arizona Diamondbacks in all three of their opening games.<\/p>\n

While the Dodgers won, though, Arizona started each game with a 2-0 lead. It was the heroics of Will Smith and Mookie Betts that kept their perfect record intact, along with a pair of Edwin D\u00edaz closes.<\/p>\n

Toronto Blue Jays<\/p>\n

While the Blue Jays reached the World Series with an iconic offense, it was their pitching and defense that got them started on their 2026 winning streak.<\/p>\n

The Athletics put up a good fight north of the border, but it was the debut of Dylan Cease along with some timely hitting that won out the weekend. Kazuma Okamoto is also a quick fan favorite in Toronto, hitting his first career MLB home run on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Yankees embarrassed the San Francisco Giants on the road to begin the 2026 MLB season.<\/p>\n

They started their campaign on Wednesday with the Netflix “Opening Day” broadcast, and while characters from the streamer were artificially placed in the audience, the Yankees put on a show.<\/p>\n

The most impressive thing about the Yankees’ start? They only allowed the Giants to score one whole run during the three-game sweep.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee Brewers<\/p>\n

The Brewers mashed against the Chicago White Sox at home to begin their 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n

The best team in baseball last year during the regular season wants to get back to the playoffs and exact revenge on the Dodgers, and they’ll need a top-tier offense like they showed opening weekend to do it.<\/p>\n

If Christian Yelich can keep up his form like he did against the White Sox for the rest of the season, he might turn back the clock and be a dark-horse National League MVP candidate.<\/p>\n

Miami Marlins<\/p>\n

Sure, it was against the Colorado Rockies, but the Marlins might actually be good this season.<\/p>\n

The fans in South Beach were celebrating following an Owen Caissie homer to complete the sweep, and there is actual optimism for a team that has been stagnant for over a decade.<\/p>\n

And who comes to town next? The White Sox.<\/p>\n
