\n\tCould there be a Ryan Gosling<\/a> cameo on a future episode of Days of our Lives<\/a>? <\/p>\n

\n\tOver the weekend, the Project Hail Mary<\/a> star accepted an \u201copen invitation\u201d<\/a> from star Deidre Hall<\/a> to visit the set of the long-running NBC sudser, after the former had shouted her out during an appearance<\/a> on Josh Horowitz<\/a>\u2018s Happy Sad Confused<\/a> podcast. <\/p>\n

\n\tDuring the interview, Gosling had noted<\/a>: \u201cSoap opera actors in general \u2014 they do not get the love they deserve. [They have to] memorize, the night before, like 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take, and it\u2019s impossible scenarios \u2014 like when Marlena, Deidre Hall, gets possessed \u2026 by the Devil. Deidre Hall has to suddenly, after playing a normal person [be possessed] \u2026 What\u2019s amazing is I remember thinking, like, \u2018God, Deidre Hall\u2019s a great actress \u2019cause she\u2019s having to act possessed right now. That just seems like a lot to ask of her.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn response, Hall had posted a video on Instagram where she said, \u201cWe\u2019re just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of because we work really hard, as you acknowledged,\u201d extending an invite to \u201ccome over and see what we do in our neck of the woods.\u201d She promised cheekily: \u201cNobody will be possessed. And if they are, I\u2019ll keep an eye on you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s a resounding \u201cyes\u201d from Gosling, who responded<\/a>, \u201cDeidre Hall, are you kidding me? Yes. This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set. I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration. It wasn\u2019t Marlon Brando in\u00a0On the Waterfront.\u00a0It wasn\u2019t [Robert] De Niro in\u00a0Taxi Driver.\u00a0It was you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cAny time, anywhere, I\u2019ll be there.\u201d In a wink to his current project in theaters, the Barbie star said, \u201cI\u2019m not worried about the possession, I\u2019ll say a Hail Mary before I get there. It\u2019ll be fine and I\u2019ll see you on set.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVenerated in the soap world, Hall has portrayed psychiatrist Marlena Evans on\u00a0Days of our Lives\u00a0since 1976, with brief absences from 1987 to 1991 and again from 2009 to 2011. Her storyline has featured some of the most outrageous occurrences in soap opera history, including two demonic possessions (in 1994 and later, 2021), surviving a fall from a 30-story building and being brainwashed into believing she is a serial killer.<\/p>\n
