It was a sensational week for Lehecka who defeated Taylor Fritz on his way to the Miami Open final before losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner. As a result of his milestone achievement, Lehecka climbed up eight places to 14 in the world as he looks to be a big threat over the next few months. There was also a good sunshine double for Daniil Medvedev who reached the final at Indian Wells and is now back into the world’s top ten as a result.

There were other significant rises in the rankings which included Alexander Zverev overtaking Novak Djokovic as the world number three after back-to-back semi-finals at Indian Wells and Miami. There is a return to the world’s top 50 for Terence Atmane as the Frenchman climbed up nine places to 44 in the world after a good run in Miami. Meanwhile, Miami semi-finalist Arthur Fils continued his rise up the rankings as he climbed up three places to 28 in the world.

In significant ranking falls, Jakub Mensik failed to defend his Miami title after an epic loss to Frances Tiafoe and as a result has fallen down the rankings by 13 places to 26 in the world. There was also a seven place drop for Tomas Machac who is now at 55 in the world. However, the main headlines go to two former top ten players in the form of Matteo Berrettini and Grigor Dimitrov. Berrettini has fell down by 23 places to 91 in the world while Dimitrov has fallen down by 49 places to 93 in the world as both players face the possibility of not being in the Roland Garros entry list.

In Brits ranking news, Jack Draper has suffered a hefty fall down the rankings after his Indian Wells title defence ended in the quarter-finals. As a result Cameron Norrie is the new British number one and is one place above Draper in the rankings at 25 in the world. Meanwhile, Jacob Fearnley is close to exiting the world’s top 100 and is down 14 places to 97 in the world.

ATP

Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) – 13,590 pointsJannik Sinner (ITA) – 12,400Alexander Zverev (GER) – 5,205Novak Djokovic (SRB) – 4,720Lorenzo Musetti (ITA) – 4,265Alex De Minaur (AUS) – 4,095Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN) – 4,000Taylor Fritz (USA) – 3,870Ben Shelton (USA) – 3,860Daniil Medvedev (RUS) – 3,610

ATP Brits

Cameron Norrie (24 in the world) – 1,753Jack Draper (25) – 1,710Jacob Fearnley (97) – 639Jan Choinski (120) – 534Jack Pinnington Jones (138) – 456Billy Harris (148) – 426Arthur Fery (163) – 372Toby Samuel (172) – 352Jay Clarke (185) – 320Dan Evans (197) – 300

WTA Rankings and Brits Top 10

The biggest headline on the women’s side over the US hard court swing is Iga Swiatek’s decline. Then an early exit at the hands of compatriot Magda Linette meant that Swiatek is now the world number four as she was overtaken by Miami Open finalist Coco Gauff. Now the Wimbledon champion will be focusing on finding a new coach as she prepares for a busy next couple of months.

The other significant fallers in this week’s rankings involve Qinwen Zheng who moves down four places to 30 in the world. There was a 16 place fall for Alexandra Eala who failed to defend her semi-final points from last year and is now at 45 in the world. Meanwhile, there was also a ten place fall down the rankings for Taylor Townsend who is at 90 in the world.

In ranking rises, Karolina Muchova is on the verge of the world’s top ten as her run to the semi-finals in Miami saw her climb up by three places to 11 in the world. There was a 12 place rise up the rankings for Hailey Baptiste who is now at 33 in the world and on the verge of the Grand Slam seedings positions. There was also a 12 place rise for Talia Gibson who is now at 56 in the world as she recorded another deep run at a WTA 1000 tournament while Daria Snigur returned to the world’s top 100 by climbing up 17 places to 93 in the world.

In terms of the Brits, Emma Raducanu fell by five places to 28 in the world while Katie Boulter is at 64 in the world and has reclaimed her place as British number three.
