If you\u2019re heading to Edinburgh International Book Festival<\/a> between 9-24 August this year, then don\u2019t miss this lunchtime event with Discoveries writers Lorna Elcock, Rukky Brume and Rue Baldry on Friday 22nd August at 12.15-13.15.<\/p>\n

In partnership with Scottish Book Trust, hear readings from Lorna, Rukky, and Rue as well as Scottish Book Trust Writers Awardees Taylor Dyson and Nasim Rebecca Asl.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the event are available to purchase on Edinburgh International Book Festival\u2019s website here<\/a>, on a pay what you can basis.<\/p>\n

Rukky Brume\u00a0was longlisted for the Women\u2019s Prize Discoveries programme in 2021.<\/p>\n

Rue Baldry\u00a0was longlisted for The Women\u2019s Prize Discoveries programme in 2021. Her debut novel,\u00a0Dwell\u00a0with be published with Northodox Press in February 2026.<\/p>\n

Lorna Elcock\u00a0was shortlisted for the Women\u2019s Prize Discoveries programme in 2021. Her debut novel, The Windhover\u00a0will be published by Dead Ink Books in July 2026.<\/p>\n

Discoveries is the Women\u2019s Prize writer development programme run in partnership with Audible, Curtis Brown Literary Agency and Curtis Brown Creative, supporting unpublished and unagented women writers in the UK or Ireland in writing their first novel.
