The moment immediately ended any hope of contesting the victory.<\/p>\n<p>Meeus crossed the line, visibly angered, gesturing in frustration before striking his handlebars. \u201cWhat the hell, you pushed me into the barriers!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>According to the Belgian, the incident came after a shift in movement within the sprint, which left him with nowhere to go.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as the race finished, Meeus made his way directly to Laporte, who had taken third place, to demand an explanation. \u201cYou can brake, can\u2019t you?\u201d he shouted. \u201cI was on Philipsen\u2019s wheel, and you changed your line. What the hell, you pushed me into the barriers!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laporte\u2019s response was calmer, though he rejected the criticism.
