Mauricio Pochettino has his say on Tottenham\u2019s survival hopes, with Spurs\u2019 situation becoming increasingly desperate as the season reaches its final stretch.<\/p>\n

The current international break has offered some respite for Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>, who are plummeting rather quickly towards the bottom three in the Premier League table<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A winless 2026 under two different managers is far from an encouraging sign for a club looking to avoid the drop.<\/p>\n

Spurs have now taken yet another drastic action in a bid to salvage something from an already abysmal campaign, parting with Igor Tudor and looking to hire Roberto De Zerbi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Brighton manager comes into what can only be described as a crisis in north London. He has a big job on his shoulders, having to motivate a deflated dressing room while getting a tired support back on side.<\/p>\n

Of course, avoiding relegation is now the focus for Tottenham, with seven games left in the Premier League season.<\/p>\n

Whether Spurs will stay up or go down remains a big question for many, but Mauricio Pochettino<\/a> has now had his say on their chances. Speaking when asked about Tottenham\u2019s survival hopes, he said:<\/p>\n

Spurs facing defining run under Roberto De Zerbi<\/p>\n

At the moment, one point is the difference between Spurs and 18th-place West Ham United, leaving the margin for error rather small.<\/p>\n

But getting nine points from their final 21 should be enough to see Tottenham stay up in the top flight.<\/p>\n

However, looking at the record of Roberto De Zerbi, who is set to come in<\/a>, according to the latest reports, Spurs might just be scratching their heads. <\/p>\n

In his first season at Brighton, the Italian struggled to make an immediate impression \u2013 having managed two draws and three defeats, including a 2-0 loss to Thomas Frank\u2019s Brentford in his first five games.<\/p>\n

However, he did go on to win the next two after that tricky spell, ending with eight points from his first seven matches. If he can manage a similar point tally in the first seven games for Spurs, he could well keep them safe.<\/p>\n
