Good day, readers, and thank you for taking the time to open the Wheel Talk newsletter. Now that we’re back in Belgium, it really feels like we’re deep into the Classics, with some of the best yet to come: the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix Femmes. First, the riders get to open their legs up at Dwars door Vlaanderen. This year, the mid-week Classic has been promoted to WorldTour, but every year it gets a pretty good turnout that leads to some fantastic racing. <\/p>\n

First things first: Matt de Neef is killing it<\/p>\n

You all know and love Matt de Neef for his thoughtful written work and calming presence on the podcast (especially during the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift), but did you know this spring Matt has come onto the women’s beat with me? The two of us have teamed up to bring you more women’s cycling content, and it’s been very fun. In case you missed some of the fantastic pieces Matt has been churning out, here’s a sample: <\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a slower start to the spring than they would have liked, but the signs are good.<\/p>\n

A lot of the big names are back in play after some time away, most notably last year’s winner Elisa Longo Borghini for UAE Team ADQ and Demi Vollering for FDJ United-Suez. The start list is still not set in stone, but if Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Premier Tech) does line up, she’s due for a big win the way she’s raced so far this year. Marlen Reusser might also be back in action for Movistar. It will be her first Classic of the year after crashing at the UAE Tour. <\/p>\n
