A pedestrian has died after being hit by a bus in the Adelaide CBD.<\/p>\n
Police say the 39-year-old woman from North Adelaide died at the scene after being hit by the Adelaide Metro bus about 5pm yesterday at the intersection of King William Road and Victoria Drive.<\/p>\n
Senior Constable Rebecca Stokes said it was a “horrible” crash and people who needed it could seek counselling through SA Police.<\/p>\n
“I do understand that a lot of people witnessed this crash and the immediate aftermath of it,” she told 891 ABC Adelaide.<\/p>\n
“We’re asking anyone who witnessed it who’s not yet spoken to police to please contact us.<\/p>\n
“We also can put you in touch with resources to help deal with the trauma because I do understand it was a pretty horrific crash.”<\/p>\n
King William Road was closed for about five hours while Major Crash investigators examined the scene, but has now reopened.<\/p>\n
The woman’s death was the 30th life lost on South Australian roads this year, including two pedestrians.<\/p>\n
Two other pedestrians hurt<\/p>\n
The death follows two other pedestrians being hit by cars and injured this week in Adelaide.<\/p>\n
A 13-year-old boy was hit by a car on Winston Avenue in Cumberland Park on Tuesday evening, suffering non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
The driver allegedly left the scene of the crash but then returned 40 minutes later to speak with police.<\/p>\n
On Monday, a 32-year-old woman from Camden Park suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car outside Seaview High School on Seacombe Road in Seacombe Gardens.<\/p>\n
