No stranger to the rumour mill, the Roosters continue to make big splashes in the transfer market and most recently signed State of Origin Daly Cherry-Evans and Reece Robson to an already formidable spine.<\/p>\n
Free to speak and negotiate with rival teams from November 1, the links to the Roosters come as they prepare for life without skipper James Tedesco, who is slowly entering the final stages of his playing career.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was talking to a couple of people earlier this week and they said to me, \u2018Mate just keep an eye on Herbie Farnworth. There\u2019s a little bit of mail kicking around that the Roosters are just monitoring the situation with Herbie\u2019,\u201d James Hooper said on FanaticsTV\u2019s Rugby League Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cNow Herbie\u2019s off-contract at the end of next season but that means he\u2019s a free agent as of November 1. If he isn\u2019t signed by them, then he can go to the open market.<\/p>\n \u201cThe theory is that the Roosters are very much having a look at Herbie because he\u2019s an English international and he has electric speed, strong defence, love his footwork and a tryscorer.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve signed DCE in the last 12 months. They\u2019ve signed Reece Robson in the last 12 months. <\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve had James Tedesco as the captain of the club for a number of seasons now and that\u2019s all part of the Herbie Farnworth management stable.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite rumours linking him to the Roosters, Farnworth revealed last week that his desire was to ink a new contract at the Redcliffe club that will keep him there for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been here for two years now,\u201d the English international told 9News Queensland<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure that\u2019ll (contract talks) will come naturally through Woolfie [Kristian Woolf] and people, so we\u2019ll see what happens.<\/p>\n \u201cBut yeah, I\u2019m definitely happy at the club, so we\u2019ll just see where I end up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
