Comedian Leslie Jones<\/a> has never shied away from sharing her unfiltered opinions on everything from sports to dating and relationships. But her latest share about marriage might just be one of the most controversial yet hilarious things we\u2019ve heard.<\/p>\n

Jones\u2019 comments came out of a new interview on Ziwe\u2019s podcast to promote her recent standup special, \u201cLeslie Jones: Life- Part 2.\u201d During their conversation, they discussed, among other things, her rise in the comedy world, her dating preferences, and eventually, marriage. Specifically, Ziwe asked Jones if she could ever see herself as a \u201ctradwife.\u201d<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t know, a \u201ctradwife\u201d is defined as \u201ca married woman who embraces traditional gender roles (such as being a stay-at-home wife and mother),\u201d according to Merriam-Webster<\/a>. Over the last few years, it has become a giant trend on TikTok with Gen Zers embracing the lifestyle more than any other group<\/a>. Influencers like Nara Smith, Hannah Neelemen, and Estee Williams have built livelihoods online showing how they cook, clean, take care of their kids, and their homes while their husbands go out and do the more traditional \u201cprotecting and providing.\u201d<\/p>\n

But while the lifestyle has garnered plenty of interest from the younger crowd, for Jones, that\u2019s not something she\u2019d ever aspire to.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely f*cking not. Because that\u2019s not who the f*ck I am. And my daddy didn\u2019t raise me like that. My dad used to literally say that to me. I didn\u2019t raise you to be somebody\u2019s wife,\u201d Jones said.<\/p>\n

The comedian went on to share a more shocking take: \u201cMost of the people that I know that\u2019s gotten married are divorced now. I think marriage is legalized slavery,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

When Ziwe asked her to explain further, Jones connected her thought to the concept of a tradwife, explaining that women in those situations would be expected to give up their independence.<\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially if he expecting you to be a trad wife\u2026might as well pull out a whip and a chain,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Jones later ended her diatribe by giving a word of advice to women: \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s beneficial for a woman at all. Don\u2019t get married.\u201d<\/p>\n

This, of course, isn\u2019t the first time Jones has joked about slavery and the dating world. If you\u2019ll remember, in 2014,<\/a> she joked that while her pick of suitors nowadays isn\u2019t great due to her skin color and height, she claimed that she would\u2019ve been a hot commodity during slavery times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not want to be a slave. I don\u2019t like working for all you white people now and you pay me. But back in the slave days, my love life would have been better,\u201d Jones said at the time, <\/a>\u201cMaster would have hooked me up with the best brotha on the plantation and every nine months I\u2019d be in the corner popping out super babies. I\u2019d just keep popping them out. Shaq. Kobe, LeBron, Kimbo Slice, Sinbad. I would be the number one slave draft pick. All of the plantations would want me. Now, I can\u2019t get a brotha to take me out for a cheap dinner. Can a b*tch get a beef bowl?!!\u201d<\/p>\n
