DEAN Campbell\u2019s campaign for back-to-back Bathurst 6 Hour victories will come with a former event winner \u2013 but not the man with whom he conquered the Mountain last year.<\/p>\n

Campbell was due to share his BMW M2 Competition once more with Cameron Crick<\/a>, only for illness to intervene.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile it\u2019s extremely disappointing to not be able to defend the crown, I believe I\u2019ve made the correct decision for the team,\u201d said Crick.<\/p>\n

Enter Brad Jones Racing Supercars regular Cameron Hill<\/a>, who won the 2022 edition of the Easter production car enduro alongside Tom Sargent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re obviously disappointed for Cam because he\u2019s been such a part of this team and we\u2019re really good mates \u2013 but sometimes these things happen,\u201d said Campbell.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re fortunate that Cam Hill was available and isn\u2019t far away from Bathurst so could get here in time to compete.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe, Cricky and I are great mates so it\u2019s all worked out.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis track record here, and in the sport in general, is brilliant so there\u2019s no concerns with him having the ability to jump in and be on the pace from lap one and help us achieve another good result at our home race.\u201d<\/p>\n

The #92 entry of Thomas Randle<\/a> and Michael Kavich topped Practice 1 this morning.<\/p>\n
