Michael Voss is facing more speculation about his future as Carlton coach after the Blues endured another second-half meltdown.<\/p>\n

The Blues coughed up a significant lead as they surrendered the last five goals in a stunning 14.12 (96) to 13.8 (86) loss to North Melbourne at Docklands on Good Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Carlton kicked five goals to two in the third term and led by 21 points at the 14-minute mark of the final quarter, but lacked the composure required to complete the job.<\/p>\n

The heat will continue to be applied to Voss, who was backed last August to see out at least the final year of his contract in 2026.<\/p>\n

Voss has now presided over a 1-3 (win-loss) start to the season.<\/p>\n

When speaking to reporters after the match, Voss was not interested in questions about his coaching future.<\/p>\n

“I’m sure people will have that conversation and they can go for it,” he said.<\/p>\n

It was the ninth time since the start of last season that Carlton has lost after leading at half-time.<\/p>\n

The defeat to the Kangaroos came just five days after they wasted a 43-point advantage in a loss to Melbourne at the MCG.<\/p>\n

“It’s a really hard one to take because six or seven minutes out from the finish you’re still feeling like you’re in a really good position in the game,” Voss said.<\/p>\n

Fremantle coughs up a five-goal lead before holding on in the final quarter after Adelaide’s James Borlase hits the post with 30 seconds left on the clock.<\/p>\n

Voss said he did not sense his players were struggling mentally during the Kangaroos’ surge in the final quarter.<\/p>\n

“I guess if we were starved of opportunity I’d be sitting here in some level of agreeance with you, but I didn’t feel like that’s the way it played out,” Voss said.<\/p>\n

“If anything, some moments of composure would’ve helped us to be able to take the sting out of the game or just be able to find where those moments are when the crowd’s going crazy and you have to finish the game.<\/p>\n

“There’s lots of gains to be made but the scoreboard says we lost, so there’s a clear level of improvement we need to make.”<\/p>\n

The Blues next face the Crows in the opening match of Gather Round at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.<\/p>\n
