Daniel Kyri<\/a>, who has played Firefighter Darren Ritter since Season 7, was previously confirmed to be leaving Chicago Fire due to budget cuts, but fans will get to see him again in Season 14.<\/p>\n

Just four months after announcing his exit, Daniel is set to return for a limited run in the upcoming season. <\/p>\n

The actor first confirmed his departure back in the spring, telling fans<\/a>, \u201cI\u2019ll miss this character, and it\u2019s time to move on. Thank you to the cast, crew & the awesome fans.\u201d His limited return will mark his final appearances on the show\u2026for now.<\/p>\n

Jake Lockett as Sam Carver \u2013 LEAVING!<\/p>\n

Jake Lockett<\/a>, who has played Sam Carver since Season 11, is leaving before Season 14.<\/p>\n

In the Season 13 finale, Carver revealed his decision to transfer to the Denver Fire Department to support his sobriety and embark on a fresh start. At the end of the season, Carver told Violet that he loves her and she said it back. And they kissed! <\/p>\n

So, what will happen to this possible new couple?<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s an almost impossible situation because he sees the only road to getting better and staying sober as getting away from all the things that trigger him and sent him off spiraling,\u201d showrunner Andrea Newman told TVLine<\/a>. \u201cSo he has a big decision to make, and if he makes one to stay, does that put this onus suddenly on Violet, like he stayed for her, and if he can\u2019t stay well and stay clean when he\u2019s there, is it her fault? So it\u2019s this beautiful coming together, but it brings up all these questions and impossibilities. So we\u2019ll see how that shakes out, too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Does that mean he will return for Season 14? It was reported that he exited the show due to NBC\u2019s budget cuts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t have anything solidly planned for him,\u201d Andrea said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great thing that we have people come and go on this show. They\u2019ll leave and then we\u2019ll get to see them again. Thirteen seasons [later], we\u2019re bringing back Cruz\u2019s Flaco cousins from Season 1! [Laughs] It\u2019s like you never know what will happen. Anything could happen with those two. We love Jake, we love the character of Carver.\u201d<\/p>\n
