We kick off with the 2yo Kindergarten Stakes over the 1100m.

Solid enough speed here which should suit the progressive (3) The Next Episode. Dominant fresh win without having much room at all, strong last 200m when out and is suited now up to 1100m with a tick-over trial between runs.

(9) Blue Door is arguably the most intriguing horse on this card, well-bred daughter of Stay Inside who lit up the trials/clock when winning a 900m heat. Tough ask on debut off one trial but excited to see her.

(7) Aryaam fell just short to the unbeaten Satono Glow on debut, 22 days between runs and will land on speed here, giving a sight.

(5) Steel Will gets McDonald in the saddle second-up rising to 1100m, can improve here but needs to.

Selections:
(3) The Next Episode
(9) Blue Door
(7) Aryaam
(5) Steel Will

Suggested Bet: The Next Episode

Race 2

Deep edition of the Adrian Knox Stakes, 2000m with not a whole lot of speed to report up front.

I love the setup here for the untapped (3) Soverato, he’s been kept at the 1500m all three runs this prep and looks set to explode now finally out to the 2000m. The big tick is his draw.

I loved the first-up effort of (6) Classic Gem, the sit-and-sprint affair was a lovely launch pad for this rise second-up to 2000m. The knock is gate 12.

(7) Profoundly and (4) Feminino both come through the Kembla Grange Classic form line, Profoundly draws sticky but should see Clark push the button from the gate and be handy, Feminino on the other hand draws well and should be forward of midfield.

Selections:
(3) Soverato
(6) Classic Gem
(7) Profoundly
(4) Feminino

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 3

2600m slog for the stayers in the Chairman’s Quality.

Visually, (5) Juja Kibo looked to peak last start but reviewing the sectionals he sat on what was a strong speed over the 2400m in the Manion Cup to only be overhauled by those off speed with softer runs. Flip the script this week with a lack of speed up front, peaks now and looks the winner.

(7) Taramansour was outstanding last start when beating Juja, yes, had the tempo but draws positively here and can settle closer.

(3) Travolta draws poorly but the 2600m start gives McDonald around 200m until the first turn to make his mind up. In form and another winning chance.

(1) Campaldino is next best but needs to improve off a flat run last time out.

Selections:
(5) Juja Kibo
(7) Taramansour
(3) Travolta
(1) Campaldino

Suggested Bet: Juja Kibo

Race 4

Easily the hardest race on the card. $5.50 the field says it all.

(5) Providence was ridden upside down last start, forgive but has been given a freshen. James jumps back on board and he can improve now.

(2) West Of Swindon gets the blinkers on now, drops back in grade and is the map horse.

(3) Matias is the improver, forgive first-up, inside draw and finds the elite D. Lane in the saddle.

(4) Aerodrome rounds out the numbers off a Canberra Guineas win.

Selections:
(5) Providence
(2) West Of Swindon
(3) Matias
(4) Aerodrome

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 5

Good edition of the Country Championships Final.

I loved the way (15) Fingers Hunter savaged the line over 1280m at Muswellbrook behind Chidiac. Up to 1400m now is a big tick.

(12) Chidiac is the horse to beat but there is a slight query over a strong 1400m and at the current $3.20 she looks vulnerable.

(4) Vermicella was outstanding when winning at the Sapphire Coast, she’ll be locked up on the fence but with her turn of speed, she’ll get her chance.

(3) Considered is the map horse, lands on speed, in form and gets an aggressive Nash in the saddle.

Selections:
(15) Fingers Hunter
(12) Chidiac
(4) Vermicella
(3) Considered

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 6

Smart edition of the G1 Sires over the 1400m, big field this year with solid speed expected up front.

(12) Streisand’s run in the Golden Slipper was enormous to say the least, she’s gone 5L faster to the 600m than Guest House and only came home 2.5L slower. Huge on-speed effort off a 28-day freshen, that sets her up beautifully for this 1400m clash. She’ll land on speed and be the horse to beat.

(4) Campione D’Italia looks the danger, another impressive Slipper run from a long way back, yes, got the hot tempo but also copped the inferior outside lanes. Sticky draw but up to 1400m suits.

You can put a line through the Slipper effort of (6) Zambales, back wide wasn’t the spot to be. 1400m win prior to that in the VRC Sires reads well for this clash.

(5) Paradoxium is next best, he has fitness to gain off the Slipper, tactically versatile and should improve.

Selections:
(12) Streisand
(4) Campione D’Italia
(6) Zambales
(5) Paradoxium

Suggested Bet: Streisand WIN

Race 7

The Everest of the Autumn. What an outstanding clash for the 2026 TJ Smith.

The barrier draw didn’t make it any easier but I’m happy to bank on the star on the rise in (7) Tentyris, we are getting a premium price about him now due to a Newmarket he couldn’t win due to the track bias. His sectionals were phenomenal regardless. Now to a kind Randwick track, speed on and just needs luck from gate 1.

(3) Giga Kick is the danger, back-to-back 1000m efforts and now gets to his optimum 1200m Randwick setup, map horse.

(4) Overpass should get a lovely time of it out in front, on the rails. His four career-best efforts have come first-up over 1200m at Randwick, that reads well for this contest.

(2) Briasa and (6) Joliestar should both map well, off rails and outside. Both go in the numbers.

Selections:
(7) Tentyris
(3) Giga Kick
(4) Overpass
(2) Briasa
(6) Joliestar

Suggested Bet: Tentyris WIN

Race 8

The big one, the famous Doncaster Mile from one of, if not the fairest starting points in racing with around 500m until the first turn.

I can’t go past the elite 3yo filly (15) Sheza Alibi. She was utterly freakish in the Randwick Guineas when destroying her rivals, she gets a lovely map here in the three-wide line and Jamie can press go on her own accord.

(3) Headley Grange is low flying at the minute, drops significantly in the weights here and is the out-and-out map horse.

Another at odds I could spec is (9) Vivy Air, should have won first-up with a better ride, loves 1600m and will be flying down the outside late with her turn of speed.

(7) Autumn Boy has to go in the mix, 3yos have an elite record and I love him 2000m back to 1600m with the blinkers going on. Gate 1 is sticky but he’ll get his chance. Cracking race.

Selections:
(15) Sheza Alibi
(3) Headley Grange
(9) Vivy Air
(7) Autumn Boy

Suggested Bet: No Bet

Race 9

Love this year’s edition of the Derby, so many questions will be answered.

It looks a complete race in two between (3) Green Spaces and (5) Storm Leopard. Green Spaces was sectionally stronger late than Autumn Boy in the Rosehill Guineas, ready for 2400m now and draws beautifully. Storm Leopard was dominant last week in the G2 Tulloch Stakes when eating up a fast tempo, I love the backup and love the draw here. Danger.

(1) Observer goes in the mix, he’s been overrated this prep in the market and again looks very short here. He’ll lead and look to run them into the ground.

(4) Deal Done Fast maps ideally in barrier 8 and brings a different form line to this event. Right in the mix.

Selections:
(3) Green Spaces
(5) Storm Leopard
(1) Observer
(4) Deal Done Fast

Suggested Bet: Green Spaces WIN

Race 10

Tough end to the meeting with a massive field, speed on and plenty of winning chances.

I am desperate to find (9) Plaintiff off the back of her electric trials, she gets blinkers on first time after wearing them in her most recent trial and looks the horse on the up. The knock is the carpark draw.

(1) Inkaruna deserves to be favourite, consistent type who now gets the shades back on and draws absolutely perfectly.

(5) Agarwood was great last start, peaks fitness, a good draw and the in-form Lloyd is in the saddle.

(13) Beside The Ocean goes in the mix, freshen, speed on and looks best placed over 1200m.

Selections:
(9) Plaintiff
(1) Inkaruna
(5) Agarwood
(13) Beside The Ocean

Suggested Bet: No Bet

[9
64,63,152751,134927,286070,286071,273677,262675,286072,85,286073
0":"post-584218","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-sports","8":"tag-au","9":"tag-australia","10":"tag-australian-racing","11":"tag-best-bets","12":"tag-championships-day-1","13":"tag-dean-watling","14":"tag-doncaster-mile","15":"tag-horse-racing-tips","16":"tag-randwick-tips","17":"tag-sports","18":"tag-tj-smith-stakes
["GET
