Wayne Rooney admits he would like to fight English television personality and chat show host Jonathan Ross in a boxing match.<\/p>\n

Manchester United\u2019s<\/a> all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney<\/a> has always been an avid fan of boxing after growing up in Croxteth, Liverpool, and spending years in amateur boxing gyms before becoming a professional footballer.<\/p>\n

Rooney once walked out with the late Ricky Hatton for a fight with Jose Luis Castillo in Las Vegas back in 2007, while he has been seen ringside for other major fights.<\/p>\n

On top of that, Rooney was linked with taking part in a Misfits Boxing<\/a>, but that has yet to materialise.<\/p>\n

Rooney and Jonathan Ross haven\u2019t got the best of relationships, which is why it\u2019s unsurprising that the former United and England star wants to get the chat host in a boxing ring.<\/p>\n

Ross allegedly mocked an image of the United legend and parents on the beach during a 2003 holiday in Cancun, Mexico.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Rooney told the Daily Mail<\/a> that he wanted to hit Ross after the comments were made, but he still hasn\u2019t got over it.<\/p>\n

During a chat with English rapper Aitch<\/a>, Rooney was asked to name one personality he would like to fight in a boxing match before naming Ross as the perfect opponent.<\/p>\n

Rooney didn\u2019t need to give a reason why.<\/p>\n

In March 2015, a leaked video showed Rooney sparring with former United teammate Phil Bardsley<\/a> in the kitchen of his Cheshire mansion.<\/p>\n

Bardsley connected with a jab that sent Rooney falling backwards.<\/p>\n

Not only did Rooney appear to be knocked unconscious, but he also celebrated his next goal against Tottenham Hotspur by shadowboxing and mocking his fall from the viral video.<\/p>\n

The sparring session was just a joke between two friends. Rooney didn\u2019t get injured as a result of it.<\/p>\n
