A report from Code Sports<\/a> claims Gutherson\u2019s future at the club is suddenly in question with the club looking to secure Dolphins livewire Trai Fuller effective immediately.<\/p>\n

Fuller could make the mid-season switch as he reportedly has a clause in his contract which requires him to be paid above a salary threshold. That clause can be triggered to allow him to make an immediate move to a rival team. <\/p>\n

In this case, that would be the Dragons as they are said to be weighing up an offer which would immediately make Fuller a free agent. <\/p>\n

The dynamic fullback has impressed every time he has played in the NRL but has struggled to get consistent playing time for a Dolphins team that is stacked with backline depth.<\/p>\n

According to the report, the potential deal with the Dragons will likely depend on whether they are prepared to guarantee Fuller an extra season in 2027. The Red V are said to be hesitant to do that.<\/p>\n

Fuller is currently off-contract at the end of this year.<\/p>\n

Gutherson, meanwhile, is contracted until the end of 2027 and was spotted with ice on his hamstring after Saturday\u2019s loss to the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

Veteran rugby league reporter David Riccio suggested earlier in the week<\/a> that the Dragons should consider moving Gutherson from fullback, adding centre would be the \u201cbest spot\u201d for him. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou need an elite fullback in your team,\u201d Riccio said on NRL 360.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still think Gutho has value but I don\u2019t think he should play at six. I think the best spot would be at centre.<\/p>\n
