The pair has two children.

The lawsuit remains, however. Jones filed in February, alleging that Rice had assaulted her repeatedly during an 18-month span from 2023-2025, and she added that she was pregnant during many of those assaults. She is seeking damages of more than $1 million, and Jones also alleges that Rice strangled her in December of 2023.

According to the wording of the lawsuit, “Rice has grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, thrown, scratched, hit, and headbutted Ms. Jones, as well as hit her with inanimate objects.”

Rice released a statement in response through his attorney, Sean Lindsey, that read as follows:

In response to the lawsuit, Lindsey released a statement: “On October 9th, 2025, well after the parties’ relationship had ended, Ms. Jones stated under penalty of perjury in a sworn Affidavit for Non-Prosecution that ‘Mr. Rice and I had a verbal argument, but he did not punch me.’ We will allow the legal process to run its course.”

The lawsuit remains, and as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk noted, the stakes were high for Rice. He missed six games last year due to a suspension for violating the league’s Personal Code Policy from a street racing incident that injured multiple drivers and passengers, and Rice would have faced another suspension as a repeat offender if the NFL had chosen to do so after its investigation.

The NFL could still make another look at the domestic abuse issues if Rice loses the lawsuit, but for the moment he’ll be able to take the field. But Rice has other legal issues hanging over him, with the trial for the street-racing injury set to start on June 9. That trial will also put Rice in the spotlight when it starts, which means Rice will be facing yet another controversial training camp.

The NFL announced that it’s concluded it investigation of Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice after allegations of…

[559
286455,64,63,286454,145891,1240,286456,593,11777,85
0":"post-585106","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nfl","8":"tag-allegations-of-domestic-violence","9":"tag-au","10":"tag-australia","11":"tag-decoda-jones","12":"tag-domestic-abuse","13":"tag-kansas-city-chiefs","14":"tag-ms-jones","15":"tag-nfl","16":"tag-rashee-rice","17":"tag-sports
["GET
