It&#8217;s sometimes so bad it&#8217;s painful to watch. Especially for me&#8230; and especially when it&#8217;s a film I&#8217;m part of,\u201d he wrote.  <\/p>\n<p> Watch<\/p>\n<p> Fans Praise Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, But Ramayana Teaser Sparks Heated Internet Debate However, he quickly shifted focus to the effort behind such projects. \u201cToday some special humans among us, like the makers of films like Kalki, Baahubali, Ramayana&#8230; are my heroes. They have the guts and vision to do what&#8217;s never been done\u2014all for the love of cinema.\u201dReflecting on his own childhood inspiration from films like Back to the Future, Hrithik highlighted the larger purpose behind ambitious VFX-heavy cinema.\u201cTo me that&#8217;s noble. The intention by itself deserves applause! I am proud of my fellow Indians. What I would give to be a part of such dreams even as an assistant,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You can like one style over the other, but neither is wrong&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the criticism around Ramayana, Hrithik explained that not all VFX is meant to look photorealistic.\u201cIn my little understanding&#8230; there are different VFX styles adopted by makers to bring their vision to life,\u201d he wrote.\u201cYou can like one style over the other but neither is wrong,\u201d he added, comparing it to animation styles and cinematic choices across films.The actor went on to define what, in his view, actually constitutes poor visual effects.\u201cBad VFX is if the movie promises \u2018photorealism\u2019 but is unable to inhabit it fully&#8230; Or the promise is of storybook style but they fail in making it beautiful enough,\u201d he explained.\u201cBut to say that the storybook style is not looking photorealistic isn&#8217;t fair. Cause it&#8217;s not meant to be.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Maybe it\u2019s just a style you didn\u2019t expect?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Hrithik concluded his note by urging audiences to rethink how they critique films.\u201cSo sometimes when you say \u2018bad VFX.\u2019 Maybe it\u2019s just a style you didn\u2019t expect?\u201d he wrote.\u201cSo next time don\u2019t just ask, \u2018Is it real?\u2019 First ask, \u2018Is it right for the story?\u2019&#8230; Debate it.
