Three people have died and two are in a life-threatening condition after a spate of crashes on Queensland roads on the Easter weekend. \u00a0<\/p>\n
A 31-year-old Palmerston man driving a quad bike died in a crash at East Palmerston, south of Cairns, on Saturday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said initial investigations indicated about 5pm the green Kawasaki was travelling along Pullom Road when it lost control and hit a pole.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The rider was declared dead at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Just over an hour later, two motorbikes were involved in a serious crash in Killarney, east of Warwick, leaving one man in a life-threatening condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police said about 6:20pm a Honda 250 motorbike and Kawasaki ZR900D motorbike collided on Spring Creek Road.<\/p>\n
The rider of the Honda, a 65-year-old Killarney man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.<\/p>\n
The rider of the Kawasaki, a 21-year-old Lowood man, sustained minor injuries and was assessed at the scene. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Half an hour later, a motorbike and car were involved in a separate crash in Brisbane’s bayside.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A black Honda motorbike was travelling along Boundary Road in Thornlands before it collided with a white Kia Cerato turning right from Affinity Way.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The rider, an 18-year-old Redland Bay man, was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later passed away.<\/p>\n
The driver of the Kia, a 24-year-old Acacia Ridge man, was not injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police are investigating whether speed was a contributing factor in the crash.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A 51-year-old Victorian woman has also died, after a ute and car crashed head-on along School Rd in Logan, south of Brisbane.\u00a0<\/p>\n
About 9pm, a silver Ford Falcon ute was travelling east along School Rd when it crashed with a grey Ford Focus travelling in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n
The woman, who was a passenger in the Ford Focus was pronounced dead at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Queensland Ambulance Service said a two-year-old girl was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital with significant head injuries in a potentially life-threatening condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Focus driver, a 28-year-old Goodna man, was not injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The driver of the ute, a 17-year-old Logan Reserve woman, was also not injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police are appealing for anyone with information on any of the crashes to come forward as investigations continue.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So far this year, at least 80 people have lost their lives on Queensland roads.
