Likewise, fullback Kennedy evoked memories of Sharks legend David Peachey with two slashing first-half tries.

They weren’t the only stars for the home side, though. Kayal Iro also put in a solid shift, finishing with one try, one line break, and a line break assist as the Shire Boys overwhelmed a disappointing Warriors outfit.

To make matters worse for the visitors, they lost backline stars Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (neck) and Luke Metcalf (hamstring) to injury late in the match.

“Luke’s had a few obviously in the past and he currently feels like it is okay,” Warriors coach Andrew Webster said.

“As in like he’s going to miss time but he doesn’t feel like it’s a long-term one but he’s just talking about how he felt with others in the past.

“Charnze is not a concussion, it’s a neck. He just got jarred. He passed his test in there and said he didn’t fell concussed at all.

“He’s just worried about his neck and they’ve cleared him so far.”

Madge provides Wash + Reynolds update | 06:49

The only bright spot for the Wahs was a hat-trick to veteran winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, who extended his prolific scoring run against the Sharks to 16 tries from 19 games.

The Aucklanders started strongly and led 6-0 after nine minutes. However, from that point it was all Cronulla, with tries to Kennedy (2), Iro, and Billy Burns giving them a commanding 24-10 lead at half time.

Trindall and Kennedy were particularly electric during this period, with the five-eighth creating his fullback’s first with a brilliantly delayed pass, before Kennedy grabbed his second with a slick show-and-go off the scrum.

Watene-Zelezniak gave the visiting fans a faint glimmer of hope when he completed his hat-trick to make it 24-16 in the 43rd minute, but this was quickly extinguished as back-to-back tries to Teig Wilton and Siosifa Talakai helped Cronulla seal the deal.

Erin Clark brought some respectability to the scoreline when he awarded a penalty try by the bunker in the 76th minute, but this would come as cold comfort to Andrew Webster, who faces a trip to Melbourne without two of his backline aces.

‘Diabolical’ Keary SLAMS Dragons | 03:01

BIG HITS

SUPER SUB SIFA

He may not have started the game, but Talakai certainly made his presence felt during his 43 minutes on the park. Aside from scoring a game-clinching try, the rampaging utility also finished with 106 running metres and forced a vital error from Jackson Ford that culminated in Burns’ touchdown.

“He’s an absolute wrecking ball off the bench,” Greg Alexander said on Fox League.

WORRISOME WARRIORS

After starting the season with three straight wins, Andrew Webster’s Warriors are starting to look a little shaky. Granted, Watene-Zelesniak scored a neat hat-trick, but their right-hand defence leaked more than a malfunctioning toilet.

WHERE’S WILL GOING?

The off-contract Kennedy continues to drive up his asking price. Unsigned for next season, it’s not exactly clear where the flying fullback will land in 2027. The Sharks have a pretty handy fullback waiting in the wings in Liam Ison, but no matter where Kennedy ends up, he’ll be an asset.

NAS calls out NRL star after win! | 00:51

MATCH CENTRE: Cronulla Sharks vs New Zealand Warriors, live scores, videos

Relive all the action below from our live blog, if you can’t see it click here!

Talk about a deadly duo.
