April 3 (Reuters) – SpaceX \u2060CEO Elon Musk said on Friday that \u2060the company’s next Starship test flight will \u200ctake place in May and not April as originally scheduled.<\/p>\n
Musk posted on social media platform X that the next \u200bflight of Starship\u2019s V3 vehicle \u2060was four to six \u2060weeks away, or in the first two weeks \u2060of \u200cMay. Earlier, he said the first flight would take place in April.<\/p>\n
SpaceX’s debut \u2060of the V3 Starship iteration has been \u200bdelayed for \u200cmonths as the company has packed dozens \u2060of upgrades \u200binto the vehicle to make it more reliable and suitable for NASA missions like landing on \u2060the moon under the Artemis program.<\/p>\n
Starship, \u200bSpaceX’s next\u2011generation rocket, is designed to be fully reusable and carry far larger payloads than SpaceX’s \u2060Falcon rocket.<\/p>\n
SpaceX’s previous Starship test launch, its 11th, was in October.<\/p>\n
SpaceX has confidentially filed for a U.S. initial public offering, Reuters reported on Wednesday, \u200bsetting the stage for what \u2060could become the largest stock market debut on \u200brecord.<\/p>\n
The Starbase, Texas-headquartered firm is \u200ctargeting a potential valuation \u200bof more than $1.75 trillion.<\/p>\n
