<\/p>\nUp to five people are on the run after ramraiding a luxury store in Brisbane’s CBD.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police were called to the Herm\u00e8s store on Edward Street at 3:06am after reports a stolen Mercedes SUV had been deliberately driven into the front of the store.\u00a0<\/p>\n
North Brisbane District Duty Officer, Senior Sergeant Leonie Scott, said it appeared two people had gone inside the store and taken “as many items as they possibly could”.<\/p>\n
She said the offenders then loaded items from the store into another vehicle, before leaving in the second vehicle and a third and heading southbound over the Story Bridge.<\/p>\n
Senior Sergeant Scott said police were “just short” of capturing one of the offenders onsite.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She said the exact time the offenders were in the store was unknown.<\/p>\n
“It was a very quick entry and a quick exit,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Police were very quickly on scene and we were very close to apprehending one of them, however they managed to evade apprehension.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
She said police had “three to five” persons of interest.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“[They were] all heavily clothed with face masks and coverings, possibly [wearing] gloves as well,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She said high-end items, including jewellery, handbags and clothing, had been stolen, but the value of the stolen goods was unknown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We’re appealing to the public if they see any high-end Herm\u00e8s items advertised or for sale on social media sites or selling platforms could they please ring crimestoppers,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Mercedes, stolen from a house in Coorparoo on April 1, was abandoned at the scene.<\/p>\n
Senior Sergeant Scott said firefighters had inspected the building for structural damage on Monday morning and police had conducted forensics before the owners secured the store.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Herm\u00e8s is best known for its exclusive Birkin bags and sells numerous luxury items that cost tens of thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n
