<\/p>\n ITHACA, N.Y. — Despite wins in the top two spots in the singles order, the Cornell women’s tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Brown on Sunday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red fell to 7-9 (0-3 Ivy League), while the Bears improved to 14-6 (1-2 Ivy) with the win.<\/p>\n Brown secured the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. The Bears edged Cornell’s top pair of Michelle Ryndin<\/a> and Sage Loudon<\/a> in a tight 7-6 decision and added a 6-2 win at No. 3 to take the early lead. The No. 2 match was left unfinished.<\/p>\n Cornell responded in singles with victories at the top of the lineup. Ryndin cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1, and Loudon followed with a three-set triumph at No. 2 to give the Big Red a 2-1 edge in completed matches.<\/p>\n Brown answered with wins at Nos. 4 and 5 to regain control. Anne Yang topped Dylan Gelber<\/a> in straight sets at No. 4, while Sari Woo defeated Andrea Martinez De Los Rios<\/a> in three sets at No. 5.<\/p>\n The match was clinched at No. 3 singles, where Abigail Lee outlasted Victoria Zhao<\/a> in a tightly contested three-set battle. The No. 6 match between Tanya Fan<\/a> and Francesca Saroli was left unfinished with the third set still in progress.<\/p>\n Cornell will host Princeton on Friday, April 10 at 1 p.m. before hitting the road to meet Penn on Sunday, April 12 at 1 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
