Caroline Dubois said she overcame illness on the day of the fight to defeat Terri Harper in their WBC and WBO lightweight world championship unification fight Sunday night, April 5, at Kensington\u2019s Olympia in London, England.<\/p>\n

The lopsided decision win was the most meaningful of Dubois\u2019s career, as she advances her record to 13 wins (5 KOs), unbeaten, and a draw, with barely any damage taken having scored a knockdown of her own in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Later, she dismissed a 135-pound bout against Irish icon Katie Taylor, saying she\u2019s only interested in \u201cthe best verses the best,\u201d and critics would give her little credit for beating an \u201cover-the-hill\u201d opponent. \u201cWhat would I get from that? A paycheck, and a name, but nothing else. If I fight a young, hungry, Alycia [Baumgardner] or [Elif Nur] Turhan \u2014 these dangerous girls. I\u2019d get more from that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baumgardner is full of confidence regarding a possible prizefight with Baumgardner.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf given the opportunity, I\u2019d run through Alycia.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight I\u2019m interested in is Alycia \u2018The Bomb\u2019 Baumgardner and I want to truly see who is the best. That\u2019s the fight I want. There\u2019s no need to waste time. The best versus the best. Five pounds difference but she\u2019s older than me and more experienced than me. Let\u2019s see. That\u2019s the fight I want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dubois, though, doubts it will materialize. \u201cI know she will try and run a mile from this fight \u2026 if she says I need to do more, then I\u2019ll have another unification. I\u2019ll go after [Turhan].\u201d<\/p>\n

Responding to Baumgardner, on X, clowning Caroline\u2019s performance against Harper, a mutual opponent \u2018The Bonb\u2019 beat by knockout, Dubois clapped back: \u201cShe\u2019s a drug cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cLook at Alycia post failing that drug, and pre-failing. She was explosive, she was powerful, and she was dangerous. She failed her drug test and hasn\u2019t looked the same since.\u201d<\/p>\n
