Two months away from the court wasn’t enough to slow Stephen Curry down in his Sunday night return to the Golden State Warriors lineup.<\/p>\n

Curry racked up 29 points while playing just 26 minutes in the Warriors’ home loss to Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.<\/p>\n

He helped drive a late comeback drive before missing a final attempt at a buzzer-beating three-pointer in the Warriors’ 117-116 loss.<\/p>\n

Curry made his return a historic night by becoming the 26th NBA player to record career field goal No. 9,000 in the loss.<\/p>\n

The game also marked the first time Curry got the chance to play with Seth Curry since his brother joined the Warriors this season.<\/p>\n

Curry last played on Jan. 30 before sitting out 27 straight games with runner’s knee.<\/p>\n

He recently said he suffered multiple setbacks in his injury rehab, which kept him off the court as he recovered, per ESPN’s Anthony Slater<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite that time away from the game and his new role coming off the bench, Curry finished the game having shot 11-for-21 from the field and 5-for-10 from deep with four assists and two rebounds.<\/p>\n

The Warriors, who are sitting at No. 10 in the West with four games remaining in the season, are destined for the play-in round for the third time in as many seasons.<\/p>\n

Golden State didn’t make it out of the 2024 play-in, although the team won in 2025 to make it to the playoffs. <\/p>\n

The Warriors are on track to have to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers, then beat either the Phoenix Suns or Los Angeles Clippers, to make it to the playoffs.
