Cricket is returning to the heart of Colchester as residents are invited to a kick-off weekend.<\/p>\n
Colchester and East Essex Cricket Club are preparing for the 2026 season and are hosting its season starter on Saturday, April 11.<\/p>\n

Open to members, families and new players, the event will feature a training session and barbecue.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, there will be a free open training session for new junior players, with a session for boys between 12pm and 2pm, and girls between 2pm and 4pm.<\/p>\n

Colchester and East Essex Cricket Club enjoyed a standout 2025 season, with the 1st XI crowned Essex League Premier Division champions.<\/p>\n

The club, based at Castle Park, has played there since 1908, making it one of Colchester\u2019s longest-running sporting homes.<\/p>\n
