This move strengthens the airline&#8217;s connectivity to two major Asia Pacific cities.<\/p>\n<p>Starting June 23, passengers can fly non-stop from KL to the Chinese metropolitan city with fares starting from RM399 (Economy) and RM1,679 (Business).\u00a0The route will be operated by a Boeing 737 aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>This new route adds to Batik Air&#8217;s existing China network, which includes Changsha, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Kunming, Xiamen and Zhengzhou.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shanghai&#8217;s modern vibes attracts all kinds of travellers, from solo wanderers and business folks, to group travellers looking for some city adventure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On July 1, travellers can\u00a0also fly directly to Sydney from KL, with fares starting from RM749 (Economy) to RM4,069 (Business),\u00a0operated by Airbus A330 aircraft for enhanced capacity and comfort on long-haul travel.\u00a0This route is set to run seven times weekly.<\/p>\n<p>Sydney in the state of New South Wales is one of Australia&#8217;s largest cities,\u00a0known for its popular landmarks like the Sydney Opera and Sydney Harbour Bridge.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The airline already has three other Australian cities on its network: Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The launch of these new routes are timely as the country continues to promote Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Tourism Malaysia <a href=\"https:\/\/data.tourism.gov.my\/tourist-arrivals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">statistics<\/a>, the country recorded about 4.7 million visitors from China and more than 500,000 visitors from Australia last year, highlighting strong travel demand.<\/p>\n<p>Visa-free short stays to China and improved connectivity have boosted outbound travel, while Australia continues to see strong flows for tourism and\u00a0business.<\/p>\n<p>Batik Air chief executive officer Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said the introducition of both routes reflects the airline&#8217;s commitment to building a resilient, demand-driven network.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Improved air connectivity will play a crucial role in supporting inbound travel growth,&#8221; he said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the broader global environment, the outlook for travel demand remains positive.
