Pierre Gasly has acknowledged that there is \u201ctoo much negativity\u201d surrounding the new F1 regulations as he issued a fresh call for change.<\/p>\n
Drivers have been left frustrated by the limitations of the new power units, which require a fresh approach to harvest and deploy energy.<\/p>\n
The cars lose speed at the end of the straights as they run out of battery deployment, creating a ‘yo-yo’ effect when racing.<\/p>\n
Max Verstappen has gone so far as to suggest that he could opt to walk away from F1 due to his dislike for the new rules.<\/p>\n
Gasly stated the drivers do not have as much influence as before, leaving him displeased.<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, I find there’s a bit too much negativity around it and I don’t like that,\u201d Gasly told media including RacingNews365.<\/p>\n
“I really think that we still take too much away from the drivers. When you’re driving in sector 1 [at Suzuka] and you’ve got a certain grip, it doesn’t really matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe battery, all these things, you’ve still got to be at the limit of the grip you get given.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gasly called on F1 to use the current April break to address the changes and improve the quality going forward.<\/p>\n
“Definitely, I agree with what others are feeling, the straight with the battery management, etc. I believe in F1, I think we all agree,\u201d\u00a0he said. \u201cWe all see the same stuff.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe all speak the same language. We all want the sport to be as good as it can be. I’m sure we’ll do what’s best.
