A beloved young Australian flight attendant has been killed in a freak car accident in Fiji<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Virgin Australia<\/a> flight attendant Lucinta Evans, who had just celebrated her 28th birthday, was standing on the roadside when she was hit by a taxi in Nadi\u2019s Martintar about 5am on March 28.<\/p>\n

The taxi collided with another vehicle before veering off the road and striking Evans, local media reported, citing a police spokesperson.<\/p>\n

She died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Virgin Australia told 7NEWS.com.au it was aware of a \u201ctragic accident\u201d in Nadi involving a team member and is focused on supporting those impacted.<\/p>\n

As news of her death spread, tributes from family, friends and colleagues flooded social media, remembering Evans as a \u201cbeautiful angel\u201d who was \u201cbold, open and full of life\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we share that our beautiful Lucinta has passed away,\u201d her family said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was truly full of life, with a light and energy that touched everyone who knew her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her partner also shared his grief online, changing his profile photo to an image of Evans and their pet dog.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease God take the wheel, my heart is broken. I LOVE YOU,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Evans\u2019 cabin manager, Lissy Hyde, visited the site of the crash to lay floral tributes.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs your Cabin Manager, I come back to the place where it all happened. I won\u2019t be able to look after you anymore on our flights or anything about work,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ask you to look after us from above. Fly with us my girl, beat us to every destination so we know you\u2019re there. You are loved, and we will continue to live life as bright and loud as you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hyde said they were not only friends, but family.<\/p>\n

Another flight attendant wrote that Evans was \u201cthe Fijian heart of Virgin\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour light and love means more to us than you know,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will forever be at a loss without her but every day she will meet you above the clouds, flying forevermore.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer legacy lives on through you all, we love you.<\/p>\n

\u201cRest in peace and God\u2019s loving embrace beautiful Lucinta.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends also shared heartfelt tributes, remembering her vibrant personality and warmth.<\/p>\n

Another described her as \u201ca soulful person, full of joy and love\u201d.<\/p>\n

A GoFundMe<\/a> page has been set up to support her family and partner during \u201cthis incredibly difficult time\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fund is to help ease that burden, giving them the space and time to mourn and heal without added stress,\u201d the GoFundMe read.<\/p>\n

\u201cA portion of the funds will also be used in Lucinta\u2019s memory \u2014 through road safety advocacy or a memorial plaque \u2014 with the hope of raising awareness and helping prevent future incidents at this location.\u201d<\/p>\n
