An Aussie woman has revealed the \u201cvery lucrative\u201d industry<\/a> where you can earn up to $120,000 your first year on the job. The best part? You don\u2019t need any formal qualifications <\/a>to get in.<\/p>\n The woman was stopped on the street by Getahead, a jobs app that has gone viral online<\/a> for asking people to divulge the juicy details about their jobs and salaries. She shared that she owned a recruitment agency where she recruits in property development and construction.<\/p>\n While she wasn\u2019t keen to disclose her own earnings, the agency boss shared that recruitment could be an incredibly high-paying industry<\/a> to get into.<\/p>\n RELATED<\/p>\n \u201cSomeone getting into recruitment, base salary should be around $70,000 to $80,000 and then your commissions on top of that. A decent recruiter in their first year can make up [to] around $120,000,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Recruiters<\/a> earn a base salary plus an agreed commission, which means their earning potential is tied to how successfully they place candidates with hiring companies.<\/p>\n Commissions can often be flat fees or a percentage of the total fixed remuneration of the candidate, such as 15 or 25 per cent.<\/p>\n SEEK puts the average recruitment consultant salary at $83,000 a year, but says it can range from $75,000 to $90,000.<\/p>\n Looking at base pay plus commissions, Glassdoor says the average base salary for recruiters in Australia is $70,000 a year, but it can range from $62,000 to $80,000 a year.<\/p>\n Additional compensation is $20,000 on average, which is earned through commission payments, but it can be in the range of $10,000 to $40,000.<\/p>\n Recruitment is one industry where you don\u2019t necessarily need any formal qualifications<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cA sales background helps. You don\u2019t need any qualifications, nothing like that. It\u2019s a very fast turnaround in terms of commissions and very lucrative industry,\u201d the woman said.<\/p>\n When it comes to the downsides of the job<\/a>, the woman said it can be challenging dealing with \u201cunreliable people\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cYou think a deal is about to go through, then someone pulls out. Your income is not guaranteed. So you\u2019ve just got to be consistent and keep going, and eventually it balances out,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n In the recruitment industry, she said \u201cyour network is your net worth\u201d, and she started off in the property industry herself before recruiting in the space.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019ve got a good network, you build trust, they\u2019re gonna trust you to find them good people and pay you,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n According to SEEK, most recruitment agencies will offer on-the-job training, but some employers may prefer candidates with a relevant qualification or certificate.<\/p>\n You may need to hold a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education, the jobs site says, and you could consider relevant qualifications like a Cert IV, diploma or degree in human resource management.<\/p>\n You could also consider a training course by an industry body, such as the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association Australia and New Zealand or the Association of Professional Staffing Companies.<\/p>\n Get the latest Yahoo Finance news – follow us on Facebook<\/a>, LinkedIn<\/a> and Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n
