NFL teams that have hired new head coaches are allowed to start their voluntary offseason workout programs early. The Baltimore Ravens were the first team to start their program under new head coach Jesse Minter on Monday. Notably, MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson has reported for the start of the offseason program, having skipped voluntary workouts in the past.<\/p>\n
The Arizona Cardinals (Mike LaFleur), Atlanta Falcons (Kevin Stefanski), Buffalo Bills (Joe Brady), Cleveland Browns (Todd Monken), Las Vegas Raiders (Klint Kubiak), Miami Dolphins (Jeff Hafley), New York Giants (John Harbaugh), Pittsburgh Steelers (Mike McCarthy) and Tennessee Titans (Robert Saleh) will all start their offseason programs on Tuesday, April 7.<\/p>\n

Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. will sign his franchise tag, according to NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport<\/a>. The Falcons and Pitts are expected to continue negotiations for a long-term deal, but he has now secured a $15.045 million, fully guaranteed, one-year contract. The deadline to reach an extension for franchise-tagged players is July 15.<\/p>\n Pitts attended the first day of the Falcons\u2019 offseason program on Tuesday. The 25-year-old is coming off a breakout season last year. His receptions and yardage were his highest since his rookie year and, among tight ends, he trailed only Arizona\u2019s Trey McBride in those statistics.<\/p>\n Read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n Miami Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley told reporters that RB De\u2019Von Achane is not present for the voluntary offseason program on Tuesday. Hafley said that it is part of business and he is confident it’ll all work out.<\/p>\n The Dolphins are reportedly<\/a> looking to sign Achane to an extension as he is going into the final year of his rookie contract, according to ESPN\u2019s Marcel Louis-Jacques. He\u2019s working his way back from an Achilles injury that cost him most of the 2025 season.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n The Jacksonville Jaguars have liked what they\u2019ve seen from defensive end Travon Walker, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n The Jaguars and Walker have agreed to a four-year, $110 million extension, Walker\u2019s agency announced on Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n Read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n The NFL offseason workout program calendar is out, and NFL Network\u2019s Ian Rapoport relayed it to the masses<\/a>.<\/p>\n It includes the dates for teams\u2019 OTAs and mandatory minicamp:<\/p>\n Ian Casselberry<\/p>\n Last month, the NFL announced that the Atlanta Falcons will play in Madrid, Spain<\/a> this coming season. Yet the Falcons opponent was not revealed.<\/p>\n The Kansas City Chiefs are pushing to be that team. Team president Mark Donovan told the Kansas City Star<\/a> that the Chiefs have been \u201copen and aggressive\u201d in lobbying for the game, set to be played at Bernab\u00e9u, home to Real Madrid.<\/p>\n The Chiefs are one of three teams that have marketing rights in Spain, along with the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins. Kansas City and Chicago are on Atlanta\u2019s home schedule<\/a> this season.<\/p>\n The Falcons\u2019 game in Madrid is scheduled for November, but the exact date will be revealed when the NFL schedule is officially released in May.<\/p>\n Sean Leahy<\/p>\n The 35-year-old Gilmore was the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft by the Bills. He played five seasons in Buffalo before moving on to the Patriots where he would help New England win Super Bowl LIII.<\/p>\n Gilmore played for four different teams over his final four NFL seasons: the Panthers, Colts, Cowboys, and Vikings.<\/p>\n He was voted NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, was a two-time First-team All-Pro and was named to five Pro Bowls.<\/p>\n Gilmore finishes his career with 180 games played, 32 interceptions, 617 total tackles and 2 INTs returned for touchdowns.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n Kyle Dugger is staying in the AFC North. The former Pittsburgh Steelers safety is signing a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Steelers traded for Dugger midseason last year. They were in desperate need of safety help at the time.<\/p>\n Pittsburgh sent a 2026 sixth-round pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for Dugger and a 2026 seventh-round pick. Dugger, a 2020 second-round pick out of Division II Lenoir\u2013Rhyne, spent the first five-plus seasons of his NFL career with the Patriots.<\/p>\n In nine games with the Steelers last season, he picked off a pair of passes, one of which he took back to the house, and piled up 42 total tackles, even recording a safety.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n Kirk Cousins reportedly signed a five-year, $172 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n The deal is reportedly a one-year, fully guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a team option for two years at $80M. The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, while the Raiders will pay him $1.3 million and another fully guaranteed $10 million signing bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year. This is the 11th straight NFL season that Cousins will have a fully guaranteed contract.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n Aaron Rodgers reportedly will not be taking a visit with the Denver Broncos, according to the Athletic\u2019s Nick Kosmider<\/a>. The news comes after it was reported that Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is a full go for OTAs with zero limitations<\/a> coming off a season-ending broken ankle in the AFC divisional round.<\/p>\n Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said at the NFL annual meetings that he is confident that Rodgers will return to the team at quarterback and that the two have stayed in contact. The Steelers hired McCarthy this offseason to replace former head coach Mike Tomlin. McCarthy coached Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2018.<\/p>\n Rodgers has not made his decision on whether he will return to the NFL for what would be his 22nd season.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly agreed to terms with cornerback Kaiir Elam, according to NFL Network\u2019s Mike Garafolo<\/a>. Elam, 24, is a former first-round pick who spent time playing for the Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans.<\/p>\n The Chiefs take a flier on Elam after losing starting cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to the Los Angeles Rams this offseason.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n Kirk Cousins reportedly agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> on Thursday, according to his agent, Mike McCartney. Cousin\u2019s reportedly will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>.<\/p>\n The deal in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M. Cousins,37, spent the past two years with the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n After being benched for Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in the first year of a four-year deal worth up to $180 million, Cousins managed to go 5-3 as a starter last season and 4-0 in the last four games after Penix went down with a season-ending torn ACL. After being released this offseason, Cousins finished 12-10 as a starter during his two years in Atlanta.<\/p>\n Before signing with the Falcons, Cousins spent six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, where he worked with Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak for three seasons. Kubiak has been vocal at the annual league meeting about preferring a veteran to start despite the team releasing Geno Smith this offseason.<\/p>\n The Raiders are expected to select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick. Mendoza was able to win the Heisman Trophy, National Championship, and is coming off a strong Pro Day on Wednesday.<\/p>\n Andy Backstrom<\/p>\n During Indiana\u2019s pro day on Wednesday, Fernando Mendoza only elevated his already high draft stock.<\/p>\n Mendoza, who won the Heisman Trophy and led the Hoosiers to a national title last season, reportedly completed 53-of-56 passes in front of NFL personnel in Bloomington.<\/p>\n Mendoza showed off his arm strength, perhaps most notably on this deep ball that impressed ESPN\u2019s Louis Riddick, and reportedly Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek, too.<\/p>\n Riddick had a bunch of good things to say about Mendoza after that throwing session.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s his presence, man,\u201d Riddick told ESPN\u2019s Field Yates<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of the unspoken, intangible part of the evaluation that you get and that really jumps out at you when you\u2019re around this young man. We can talk about how smooth he looked working from a simulated under center snap, what his footwork looked like \u2026 how tight the spiral was.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 But it\u2019s the way in which he commanded himself, from the time he walked out on this field to the time he came over here and sat down and talked with me and answered the questions that he answered. It just kind of oozed franchise-caliber quarterback type of stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n Mendoza is projected to go No. 1 overall to the Raiders later this month.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n The Chicago Bears are reportedly still trying to persuade the NFL to give them compensatory picks after the Falcons hired Ian Cunningham as general manager, according to the Chicago Sun-Times\u2019 Patrick Finley<\/a>.<\/p>\n Cunningham spent four years as the Bears assistant general manager before becoming the Falcons general manager this offseason. The Bears were expecting to get two compensatory picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. The league did not believe the Bears qualified for the picks because they feel that Matt Ryan and not Cunningham is the primary football executive.<\/p>\n Tarohn Finley<\/p>\n Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is a full go for the team\u2019s offseason program with zero limitations, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.<\/p>\n Nix suffered a season-ending broken ankle in the Broncos divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills nine and a half weeks ago. Nix\u2019s initial post-surgery timeline was 12 weeks.<\/p>\n Nix threw for 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions before he went down.
