Sabrina Carpenter debuted a new hairstyle: a red pixie cut.<\/p>\n

The singer showed off the new look on the cover of Perfect Magazine.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we shoot stuff for my music, it\u2019s very Sabrina,\u201d she said about her signature style. \u201cFor this I got to [say], \u2018Just forget that I exist. Anybody but me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> is debuting a fresh new hairstyle\u2014in a recent photoshoot, that is.<\/p>\n

On April 7, the \u201cEspresso\u201d singer appeared on the cover of Perfect Magazine<\/a>, and in one shot, she ditched her signature blonde hair for a red pixie cut that\u2019s very reminiscent of iconic supermodel Twiggy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old donned the new ‘do as she posed in bed in front of a mirror, wearing a long-sleeve brown shirt with lace detailing. Her feet are kicked up behind her, revealing black pumps. In her hands she appears to be holding a diary with a lock.<\/p>\n

The full spread is a far departure from Carpenter\u2019s usual Betty Boop-inspired aesthetic. Elsewhere, she wears long black hair with blunt bangs<\/a>. In yet another look, she rocks a blonde-and-black mullet.<\/p>\n

In the interview, conducted by Marc Jacobs, Carpenter revealed the intention behind the daring styling. \u201cWhen we shoot stuff for my music, it\u2019s very Sabrina,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this I got to [say], \u2018Just forget that I exist. Anybody but me.\u2019 It was really fun to be able to play with character\u2026The most exciting thing about a shoot is when you can just fully trust and relinquish control, and that\u2019s how I felt.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also spoke about navigating her style as \u201cthe shortest person ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe day I realised what tailoring is changed my life,\u201d she told Jacobs. \u201cIn terms of what made me feel the most confident, it was an altered outfit, making it feel like it works really well on my body. I see it truly as art, as something that can make you feel so self-conscious or it can make you feel so incredibly confident that you\u2019re not even aware of what is on your body.\u201d<\/p>\n

And being that she loves \u201cto play dress up,\u201d she relished the opportunity to switch up her look for the shoot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got to really try some looks that I\u2019ve never tried before. Lots of wigs, lots of different make-up for me, lots of shapes that maybe I wouldn\u2019t normally wear. I can just play a little bit more with editorial. It was really fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
