Australian in NCAAW basketball in 2026-27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Almost 30 of Australia&#8217;s best young women&#8217;s basketballers will line-up for US colleges in the 2026-27 NCAA\u00a0Division 1 season as freshmen.<\/p>\n<p>They are part of more than 110 players, or about 5% of the total number in NCAA\u00a0women&#8217;s basketball.<\/p>\n<p>This is the &#8220;way-too-early&#8221; list of Australian men&#8217;s basketballers already preparing for the 2026-27 NCAA basketball season, including 2025-26 season Seniors who are expected to graduate.<\/p>\n<p>For transparency, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball.com.au\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">basketball.com.au<\/a> has moved 2025-26 freshman to sophomore, sophomores to juniors and juniors to seniors.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s our goal to compile the most complete list of Australia&#8217;s best emerging stars so if you know a player that isn&#8217;t on our He is also the assistant coach for the <a href=\"https:\/\/nbl1.com.au\/club\/sydney-comets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Comets NBL1 women\u2019s team in the NBL East Conference<\/a>. Peter is a 30-year journalist, starting as a sports reporter at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ntnews.com.au\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NT News<\/a> in the early 1990s. He played junior basketball for the Northern Territory at national championships from U16 to U20 and for the Territory\u2019s senior men\u2019s team at numerous international tournaments.
