\n\tAdrian Grenier<\/a> has no hard feelings about not being part of The Devil Wears Prada<\/a> 2.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor, who appeared in the original 2006 film, has been vocal<\/a> about his \u201cdisappointment\u201d over not being invited<\/a> to reprise his role of Nate for the long-awaited 2026 follow-up. But in a new ad for Starbucks\u2019 Energy Refreshers, Grenier admits he has no ill will about not being featured in the upcoming film.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou might have seen the headlines \u2014 I wasn\u2019t asked to be part of a certain sequel. But I\u2019m good. Really. It\u2019s all good energy,\u201d Grenier says in the ad, after which the camera pans out to see the actor is talking to a Starbucks barista.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo a toast to Nate,\u201d he added, in reference to his Devil Wears Prada character, whom was the chef boyfriend to Anne Hathaway\u2019s Andy Sachs, the assistant to Meryl Streep\u2019s Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of fashion magazine Runway. The fictional couple break up in the first film due to Andy\u2019s busy schedule, though they seemingly reconcile at the end. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe made a mean sandwich, he loved his girlfriend, to a point,\u201d he added. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t perfect. So let\u2019s leave Nate in 2006 and keep this good energy going.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, the Entourage concluded the ad on an open-ended, cheeky front, noting, \u201cI mean, if they call, I\u2019m free.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tA majority of the original Devil Wears Prada cast and director David Frankel are returning for the sequel, which releases on May 1. Hathaway, Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci will all reprise their roles, though it was revealed in July 2025 that Grenier would not be involved in the project.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cObviously, it was a disappointment that I didn\u2019t get the call to be in the sequel,\u201d Grenier told Page Six in March. \u201cBut I also understand there was some backlash with Nate, the character, so that might have something to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n
