Norqain<\/a>\u2019s Wild One high-performance sports watch collection was developed with input from industry maverick Jean-Claude Biver<\/a>. Launched in 2022<\/a>, it introduced the brand\u2019s proprietary Norteq material, a carbon fibre composite six times lighter than steel and 3.5 times lighter than titanium. Launching at Watches & Wonders 2026, Norqain unveils the Wild One Skeleton Chrono with a flyback chronograph movement fully exposed on the skeletonised dial and reverse. Available in three variants, the Wild One Chronograph\u2019s robust, shock-absorbing case is built to withstand the rigours of extreme sports.<\/p>\n

Norteq is an exceptionally robust, super-light and ultra-resistant carbon fibre composite with a polymer matrix that can also be produced in any colour under the rainbow. Thanks to the complex 25-part Wild One Skeleton Chrono case with a rubber shock absorber, a titanium container for the movement and a carbon fibre Norteq protective cage secured with screws, most cases can withstand shocks of up to 5,000 g. The screw-down crown, sheathed in black or grey rubber, ensures the Wild One\u2019s 200m water-resistance rating.<\/p>\n

Sharing the same 42mm matte case with a thickness of 13.6mm, the standard edition features a black Norteq carbon fibre cage with black rubber shock absorbers and turquoise accents on the dial, a second 400-piece edition in burgundy Norteq with black shock absorbers, and a special limited edition of 75 pieces with a PX Impact 18k red gold cage and a black Norteq caseback, grey shock absorbers and gold and grey accents on the dial. The well-protected pusher at 2 o\u2019clock starts\/stops the chronograph, while the one at 4 o\u2019clock handles the reset and restart.<\/p>\n

The flyback chronograph calibre developed with AMT, Sellita\u2019s bespoke branch, is not new; it was first seen in 2024 in the Independence<\/a>. Using a classic Sellita SW500 base that has been extensively modified with a more sophisticated column wheel, a flyback function, an extended power reserve of 62 hours, COSC chronometer certification and personalised bridges, plates and rotor, the movement is rightfully considered a proprietary Norqain calibre.<\/p>\n

To enhance the view, the Wild One Skeleton Chrono features twin wafer-thin transparent discs floating over the movement at noon for 30-minute elapsed times and at 6 o\u2019clock for running seconds. Promoting visibility one step further, the sub-dial hands are replaced with more discreet printed pointer arrows. Calibrated for athletes, the sloping pulsometer scale on the flange helps them monitor their heart rate.<\/p>\n

The flange also supports the chapter ring with the applied indices suspended over the dial, reinforced by a black bridge traversing the dial with Norqain\u2019s mountain silhouette. The diamond-cut indices and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova, as is the arrow-shaped tip of the central seconds hand. The sapphire window on the caseback reveals the black openworked rotor with Norqain\u2019s double N mountain logo and contemporary sandblasted, polished and brushed finishings throughout.<\/p>\n
