The Housemaid author, Freida McFadden, has finally revealed her real identity after years of hiding behind a pseudonym, releasing best-selling thrillers.<\/p>\n

McFadden recently had the popular novel adapted into a movie starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, and there is a sequel on the way.<\/p>\n

With her writing career taking off \u2014 she has more books on the way \u2014 the writer thought now was a good time to finally reveal her true identity to the world.<\/p>\n

McFadden\u2019s real name is actually Sara Cohen, and she lives a double life as a doctor treating brain disorders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at a point in my career when I\u2019m tired of this being a secret,\u201d she told USA Today<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m tired of people debating if I\u2019m a real person or if I\u2019m three men.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a real person, and I have a real identity, and I don\u2019t have anything to hide.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy whole goal was to keep it a secret until I was (ready to) step back from my doctor job, so it wouldn\u2019t be like everyone I work with suddenly knew and it compromised my ability to do my job.<\/p>\n

In late 2023, she stopped working full-time, adding, \u201cBut I have stepped away from my job. I\u2019m only working like once or twice a month.\u201d<\/p>\n

She has also been wearing a wig out in public, but according to the author, it\u2019s only because she has \u201cno idea how to style my hair\u201d.<\/p>\n

When some of her co-workers at the hospital discovered it was, in fact, Sara behind the popular nail-biting novels, McFadden said they did her a solid by keeping their lips sealed.<\/p>\n

Many of them were fans of her books and had no idea they were working with the author herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though I haven\u2019t told my real name until now, I feel like I have shared the real me all along and everything I\u2019ve told them has been the truth,\u201d McFadden said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though the name will be a surprise, nothing else will. I\u2019ve always been genuine with my readers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Housemaid 2 is set for release on December 17, 2027 and production is planned to get underway later this year.<\/p>\n
