Tech news<\/a><\/p>\n The British brand’s new wheelset introduces VibraCore technology, claiming up to 23% reduction in road vibration through a novel carbon material.<\/p>\n Parcours, Suvi Loponen<\/p>\n Parcours has launched the Strade GT, the first wheelset in its new GT series and the first road wheelset to feature what the brand calls VibraCORE, a technology that integrates recycled carbon fibre into the rim to reduce the vibration transmitted to the rider.<\/p>\n Wheels are a market saturated with lightweight, premium options, and arguably one where two attributes dominate: aerodynamics and weight. And wheel brands are pushing up against limits right now on improvements. As founder Dov Tate told Escape Collective: “From an aero perspective, we’ve sort of really juiced the orange as far as we can at this point. Within reason, I think there are still pieces that we can tweak around the edge, but we’re seeing as products are launched, it’s sort of very small benefits, very minor upgrades.”<\/p>\n The Strade GT still gives the orange another squeeze for those minor gains, but also looks to other attributes to improve the product. Despite using novel technology, Parcours has not quite re-invented the wheel.\u00a0 Below, we go deeper into the VibraCORE technology, how Parcours landed on using it, and what 15 months of testing showed.
