A royal expert has weighed in on Meghan Markle’s decision to show her son Prince Archie’s face on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram on Monday to share a slew of videos of her family celebrating Easter over the weekend at their home in Montecito, California.<\/p>\n

The content captured the 44-year-old Duchess feeding chickens and collecting eggs, while also showing her kids Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, excitedly embarking on an Easter egg hunt.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, one video – which showed Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan’s son drawing on an Easter egg – has raised eyebrows amongst royal commentators as it revealed his face.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have long kept their children’s faces out of the public eye in order to maintain their anonymity and protect them online.<\/p>\n

This aligns with their advocacy for youth safety on social media, which they have been vocal about through their Archewell Foundation.<\/p>\n

Royal expert Tom Sykes predicted that Meghan’s decision to share more and more of her children online pointed to a strategic decision to move into the “mummy influencer” sphere, according to Woman’s Day.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s face it, the lifestyle influencer space hasn\u2019t really worked but the mummy influencer space seems to be really opening up for her now and what she is leaning into,\u201d Sykes said.<\/p>\n

However, according to the royal writer, the career pivot sheds light on the Sussexes’ “hypocrisy”, with their passionate campaigning for stricter social media regulations at odds with their decision to post their children on Instagram.<\/p>\n

“Harry has never ceased in telling us how damaged he felt by being co-opted into\u2026 having to sell the Royal Family without any agency or any input himself,” Sykes said.<\/p>\n

The royal expert suggested the Sussexes’ decision to hide their children’s faces over the years, instead of protecting their identities, has in fact created a “curiosity gap” that makes the public want to know more.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s creating excitement for the days when more of their faces are revealed rather than less of their faces are revealed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Meghan’s Easter post on Instagram has also sparked conversation online after many people noticed a sad detail in the clips – that the children were not surrounded by their extended family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“What\u2019s really sad is they have no family to spend Easter with,” one person wrote on X.<\/p>\n

“Nice to see them playing, but why are they always alone? A few friends would make this much happier. Kinda (sic) sad to watch,” another added.<\/p>\n
