Pedro Munhoz is ready to move on from the UFC.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian bantamweight has been signed with the UFC since 2014. He has made over 20 walks to the Octagon since then, battling some of the best fighters in his division\u2019s history in that time. He is grateful for his experiences on the UFC roster. However, he believes it\u2019s time to take his career in a new direction.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Instagram this week, Munhoz revealed that he has requested his release from the UFC in order to explore other avenues outside the Octagon.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince 2014, I\u2019ve been part of the UFC, building my name, proving myself, and showing what I\u2019m capable of inside that octagon,\u201d Munhoz wrote. \u201cAfter 32 fights, I can proudly say I\u2019ve never been submitted or knocked out. I\u2019ve always stepped in there with heart, discipline, and respect for the game. There comes a point in life when you don\u2019t just stay comfortable, you take control of what\u2019s next.<\/p>\n
\u201cRight now, I feel it\u2019s time to take a new direction, explore different opportunities, and focus on other important areas of my life. I\u2019ve asked the UFC to release me, and I\u2019m currently in the process of becoming a free agent. I\u2019m not retiring yet. Still hungry. Still focused. Still ready to put on great fights and make statements \ud83d\udc4a\u201d<\/p>\n
It is unclear what Munhoz has planned if he is released from his UFC contract. However, he would surely be welcomed by BKFC, who have signed dozens of former UFC fighters over the years. Jake Paul\u2019s Most Valuable Promotions is also pushing into MMA in a big way. They may be interested in Munhoz\u2019s services, and the PFL could be too.<\/p>\n
Highlights of Munhoz\u2019s UFC run include victories over Cody Garbrandt and Rob Font.
