Taha appeared on the regional football talk show on Tuesday, a notable visit that underlines the programme\u2019s appeal.
\nAccording to presenter St\u00e8fan Leusink, it is not a given that Twente\u2019s contracted players will appear on the programme.<\/p>\n
Wagelaar, never shy to voice his opinions, acknowledges the club\u2019s stance. \u201cI\u2019m not sure if that applies to Younes, since he\u2019s on loan at Groningen, but we\u2019ve spoken to Twente and it\u2019s clear that the players no longer want to come here.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFC Twente considers me too critical of both players and the club, and last year press officer Richard Peters called to complain that I was too negative about Daan Rots and Michel Vlap.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wagelaar disagrees: \u201cI simply give my opinion on a player: if he\u2019s good, he\u2019s good; if not, I say so.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Wagelaar then takes a swipe at Tubantia journalist Leon ten Voorde. \u201cHe\u2019s just a fan trying to make a name for himself. I\u2019m not going to play along with that. If I\u2019m not allowed to criticise Twente, I\u2019ll stop doing this programme. If they want to come here, they\u2019re more than welcome. If they don\u2019t, they should stay away.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFor me, FC Twente is the third-best club in the Netherlands. I have nothing against the club, but some people there have the backbone of a mosquito, which makes a proper conversation impossible,\u201d added Wagelaar, stressing that he has no personal agenda against any player.<\/p>\n
Taha himself has so far declined to comment on the matter.
