Sometimes, trades work out both ways.<\/p>\n

That could be the way things go for the New England Patriots<\/a> and Chicago Bears<\/a> during the 2026 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

In a new mock draft by The Sporting News’ senior NFL writer Vinnie Iyer<\/a>, the Pats and Bears make a deal with each other.<\/p>\n

Iyer has the Patriots move up to No. 25 overall, where they take Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, who is 6-foot-7 and 366 pounds.<\/p>\n

“The Patriots have been enamored with the massive frame and intriguing athleticism of Proctor to boost their offensive line at either right tackle or guard to better support Will Campbell and help both Drake Maye and the running game,” Iyer writes.<\/p>\n

Proctor may not last that long, but if he’s still there in the mid-20s, it’s worth the Pats going up to get him.<\/p>\n

The Bears in the deal would move down to New England’s No. 31 draft slot. There, they land Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker.<\/p>\n

“The Bears can go with several positions, including offensive line and safety, but pass rush opposite Montez Sweat is also important to address,” Iyer writes. “Parker is an ideal Cameron Jordan-like addition for Dennis Allen’s defense.”<\/p>\n

Of course, it’s not automatically a win-win. Draft night trades are the kind that can only truly be assessed years later.<\/p>\n

But if the Patriots move up to get their guy, and the Bears get an extra draft pick out of the move down, it has the potential to work out nicely both ways.<\/p>\n
