Its vacuum cleaners, hair dryer, air purifiers, heaters, humidifiers and even its headphones have that in common. And now it\u2019s launching its first handheld fan, in good time for summer.<\/p>\n

The Hushjet Mini Cool Fan is designed to be used as a wearable or standing on a desk. It comes with what Dyson slightly clinically calls a neck dock for hands-free wear. It can also be used as a handheld.<\/p>\n

Dyson hasn\u2019t revealed the decibel level, but it\u2019s worth noting that its large HushJet Purifier is very nearly silent. The air flow on the new product is up to 25 meters a second and the motor spins at up to 65,000rpm.<\/p>\n

Dyson says the 38mm-diameter fan has been engineered with lowered frequencies and removed the sound of whining motors.<\/p>\n

Which may mean the only whining you\u2019ll hear is from the person next to you asking if they can have a go.<\/p>\n

The fan is a small cylinder with an angled head, weighing 212g and lasting six hours between charges, Dyson says. There are five settings for airflow speeds plus a Boost for that moment when you really need to beat the heat.<\/p>\n

The 38mm diameter is important for the brand, by the way. \u201cAt Dyson, 38mm is a special measurement. It\u2019s the representation of how we make things smaller, lighter and better performing \u2013 it is in Dyson\u2019s engineering DNA. It\u2019s like the diameter of a watch face but also the diameter shared by the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, the Dyson PencilVac, and now, the HushJet Mini Cool Fan,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n

Three color finishes are available, all in classic Dyson combinations: one matches two blues, Ink\/Cobalt, there\u2019s Carnelian\/Sky which is a red and blue combo and Stone\/Blush which is said to be inspired by mother of pearl with white and blush of pink notes.<\/p>\n

The fan is one of the most affordable Dyson products yet, priced at $99.99 from dyson.com<\/a> and \u00a399.99 ($132) in the U.K.<\/p>\n
